Jan Thompson is an International Professional Artist with a studio in Tongwynlais, Cardiff, close to Castell Coch, having spent the previous 20 years living in Monmouth,South Wales,UK and Villanueva de la Concepcion, Andalucia, Spain
I started painting professionally over 20 years ago following my graduation with First Class Honours in Art and Craft from the University of Wales in Caerleon. Since then, my work has progressed with exhibitions in London, Bath, Cambridge, Cardiff and of course in Monmouth where I regularly hosted an Open Studio as part of H.Art.
My inspiration comes from the Natural World and my travels within it. We recently lived in Andalusia for half of the year where I was inspired by more wonderful views and the people, the dance & the music! The “heat is palpable” in my Andalusian Art Originals, according to one observer, so my environment definitely had an effect on my work!
One area I particularly enjoy is creating bespoke murals and paintings for local clients, working with them to capture their memories and emotions in a permanent piece of art which will delight them forever.
I’ve also found a printer who shares my quality standards and offer High Resolution Giclée Prints as well as a range of Greeting Cards.
